A Global.asa file may not display text written in the Global.asa file. Information cannot be displayed in this file. In the Application_OnStart and Application_OnEnd subroutines, only Server and Application objects can be used. Server, Application and Session objects may be used in the Session_ONEnd subroutine and any built-in object can be used in the Session_OnStart subroutine.

Microsoft has a technology to simplify the creation of messaging applications called CDO (Collaboration Data Objects). CDOSYS is built into ASP for sending e-mail with ASP. Emails can send a webpage from the website, a webpage from the computer, a text e-mail with an attachment, and a text e-mail using a remote server.

An Application object in ASP is used to tie a number of ASP files together. The Application object stores and accesses the variables from any page. The object should hold information to be used by many pages in the application. It is accessible from any page and when it is changed, the information is automatically changed on all pages.
